Hello Playmakers! Back again for another week of NFL football. To breakdown this article, I’ve chosen my favourite Week 10 quarterbacks at the top and middle value tiers for the position. Let’s get started with the top tier play of the slate…
Patrick Mahomes | KC | $7200 DraftKings | $9800 FanDuel
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes remains in a tier of his own this week due to his insane price, insane upside, and strong floor. The Cardinals pass D is 8th in DVOA and 16th in pass yards allowed. However, the Chiefs are coming into this game with an implied point total of 33, the highest on the slate. Although Mahomes obscene price tag makes him difficult to fit in cash his ceiling certainly makes him worth considering in tournaments. Especially with the value at other positions that is opening up.
Matt Ryan | ATL | $6200 DraftKings | $8500 FanDuel
The Falcons will be in Cleveland this weekend to face the Browns. Despite somehow being good on paper against the pass the Browns secondary has continued to regress in recent weeks. Over the last month they have surrendered about 22 FP to QBs per game. Despite not being in the dome I still think we can expect a solid game from Matt Ryan here in Cleveland. Look to pair with him one of his receivers or run him naked for cash games or tournaments.
Philip Rivers | LAC | $6000 DraftKings | $8200 FanDuel
Battle of California this weekend as Rivers and the Chargers are headed to the Black Hole. The nickname for the Raiders home stadium is a good comparison to where this franchise is headed after they dropped to 32nd in DVOA and 32nd in pass yards allowed. Rivers has found plenty of success against his divisional opponents averaging 20 FP against them in their last three meetings. With how much he uses his RB Melvin Gordon as a passing option he becomes a viable pairing option for Rivers. The Chargers ironman QB comes in reasonably priced on both sites and is a strong cash option.
Andy Dalton | CIN | $5800 DraftKings | $7900 FanDuel
Another week against a NFC South opponent for Andy Dalton and the Bengals, this time its the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are bottom 3 in both DVOA and yards per pass allowed. They are giving up 25.7 FP per game to opposing QBs which ranks 31st in the league. The Bengals will also be without A.J Green this Sunday which also creates the opportunity the pair Dalton with some of his cheaper receivers. Dalton profiles as a good cash play with tournament upside.
Baker Mayfield | CLE | $5400 DraftKings | $7400 FanDuel
On the flip side of this projected high scoring Cleveland/Atlanta game we have Baker Mayfield. Although Mayfield has been a bit of an INT machine as the Browns starter he is in a good spot here against the Falcons. The Browns are home dogs so he will likely be throwing the ball here deep into the fourth. The Falcons secondary is 30th in FP surrendered to QBs. Mayfield also has strong rushing upside and comes with a positive passing correlation with a couple key receivers/RB’s. Look to save some salary with Mayfield this week in cash.
