TOR1 Cash Stack: Bunting – Matthews – Marner (3.4 goals total)
Fanduel: $20,900 (38% of salary) / DraftKings: $20,300 (41% of salary)
Toronto has been much sharper offensively as of late and they have been looking more and more like the elite offense that they were last season. Tonight’s matchup against the Sharks is solid but not a top one by any means. The Sharks have regressed a lot defensively in the last 5-7 games and I do believe that their hot start defensively was a fluke. The Maple Leafs owns a 2.71 GF/games while the Sharks owns a 2.79 GA/games. Toronto’s power play is at a solid 23.7% while the Sharks own a ridiculous 88.9 PK%.
TOR1 owns a ridiculous 37SCF, 14HDCF, 55CF%, and a 2.95xGF. They will match against SJ1 and their solid 16SCA, 5HDCA, and 1.92xGA. This matchup on paper isn’t as good as I thought but the Sharks recent struggle defensively mixed with the Leafs stepping it up offensively as of late, makes this stack in a good spot and it’s easily one of the best lines of the slate due to a smaller slate.
Other viable stacks: TB1 (Palat, Stamkos, and Barre-Boulet); COL1 (Landeskog, Rantanen, and O’Connor); TB2 (Killorn, Cirelli, and Joseph)
BUF1 GPP Stack: Skinner – Thompson – Olofsson (3 goals total)
Fanduel: $15,100 (27% of salary) / DraftKings: $15,200 (30% of salary)
This line is fully correlated at 5v5 and on PP1 as well as being extremely cheap and having the best matchup of the slate! I have surprisingly been using BUF1 here and there this season as a stack or a one-off and they have yet to disappoint me. Buffalo has been a pleasant surprise offensively with their respectable 2.79 GF/games and solid 21.2 PP%. Montreal on the other end has been a disaster defensively with their 3.62 GA/games and their mediocre 68.2 PK%.
BUF1 owns a masterful 25SCF, 12 HDCF, 50CF%, and a 2.48xGF. They’ll be matching MTL2 and their awful 25 SCA, 11HDCA, and 2.73xGA. This is easily the best value stack on paper for this slate.
Other viable stacks: CBJ1 (Nyquist, Jenner, and Bjorkstrand); PIT1 (Guentzel, Crosby, and Rust); COL2 (Nichuskin, Kadri, and Burakovsky)
Auston Matthews | $9400 (FD) | $9300 (DK)
He is easily the most worth-it stud on today’s slate. He has been heating up and his shot floor makes him a threat for shot bonus and multi-goals nights.
Tage Thompson | $4700 (FD) | $4700 (DK)
His cheap price alongside the great 5v5 and PP matchup makes him an excellent play in all formats. Thompson should be able to get 10+ points without a problem tonight.
Honorable Mentions: Tavares, Crosby, Kadri, Suzuki, Cirelli, Sillinger, Gourde, and Roslovic
Boone Jenner | $5000 (FD) | $6200 (DK)
Jenner is more viable on FD due to being underpriced but either way, he is a damn good play as Vancouver has not been great defensively at all this season.
Mitch Marner | $7600 (FD) | $7300 (DK)
Usually, when you roster Matthews, it is a good idea to roster Marner as well. They’re always a deadly duo and they play together for the whole game!
Honorable Mentions: Landeskog, Rantanen, Stamkos, Guentzel, Marner, Nylander, Bjorkstrand, Rust, Olofsson, Robertson, Palat, Killorn, Pavelski, Jenner, Burakovsky, Skinner, Voracek, Domi, O’Connor, Nichuskin, Bunting, Nyquist, Barre-Boulet, and Caufield
Zach Werenski | $6200 (FD) | $7400 (DK)
Werenski has been excellent as of late with 6 straight games with a least a point. With tonight’s excellent PP and 5v5 matchup, I believe he can keep that streak going.
Rasmus Dahlin | $4600 (FD) | $4100 (DK)
Dahlin is cheap for a PP1 defenseman playing around 23 minutes. Montreal has an awful PK and they take a lot of penalties. Buffalo powerplay should feast tonight and so will Dahlin.
Honorable Mentions: Makar, Hedman, Rielly, Letang, Burns, Toews, Sergachev, Klingberg, OEL, and Petry
Tristan Jarry | $7500 (FD) | $8000 (DK)
Jarry has been one of the hottest goaltenders this month with many shutouts and wins. Tonight, he is facing an Islanders team that has been hurt defensively and offensively because of a covid outbreak. Islanders ranks 2nd worst offensively in the NHL.
Elvis Merzlikins | $7800 (FD) | $7800 (DK)
Whenever Merz is on the net for CBJ, I feel confident that he can pull a win and do well. Vancouver has been a mess offensively despite having some big names on their roster. Ride the hot wave!
Honorable Mentions: Vasilevskiy
Finally, this slate is very fun and I think we can pull a big win from my favorite plays. As for my stacks, I will be targeting: TOR1, CBJ1, BUF1, TB2, TB1, PIT1, COL1, COL2, and MTL2
