It’s Monday, and tonight we are focusing on one NHL playoff game and its between the Vegas Golden Knights and the San Jose Sharks. San Jose are slight favorites tonight at -135 (as of 5:20PM EST). The series is coming back to San Jose after a thrilling double OT win for the Sharks in Vegas that had several twists and turns on the way to a Logan Couture game winner. Let’s look ahead to what we expect to be another thrilling game tonight, and a big game from #88 – Brent Burns.
Brent Burns | San Jose Sharks | $11,200
Tonight I’m going against the grain a bit by picking three defenders. Mainly because I’m sliding Burns into that Captain slot. I expect Brent and his toothless smirk to put up another high score after his 45.8 onslaught the other night. If you don’t like the option of including three defenders in your roster, but still wanted Burns in your lineup, my second choice would be fellow Shark, Evander Kane.

Evander Kane | San Jose Sharks | $10,600
Jonathan Marchessault | Vegas Golden Knights | $10,700
Chris Tierney | San Jose Sharks | $7,500
Guess who’s back? It’s Evander Kane! After getting tossed in Game 1, and also missing Game 2, its safe to say that Kaner is well rested. With Game 2 playing enough overtime to to tire out even the most tireless of NHL beasts, Kane will definitely have the freshest pair of legs on the ice in Game 3. For that matter, I also like pairing SJS winger Chris Tierney with Kane as he can be had at a low cost. With that said, we didn’t think this was going to be a shutout right? Nope, not with the way that these teams are going at it! Sure he’s pricey but I’ll pay the $10,700 for Jonathan Marchessault of the Vegas Golden Knights. He has proven time and time again that his come up with the Panthers last year was no fluke, after having himself a career year in 2018 with 75 points.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic | San Jose Sharks | $7,600
Nate Schmidt | Vegas Golden Knights | $7,400
Schmidt has been my go-to cheap Knights player throughout the playoffs. He sees power play time, and that is a tremendous asset on this high scoring Knights team. Last game, Nate Schmidt put up 32.8 FanDuel points! And no, that is not a joke! To round out our lineup, I have the Sharks’ Marc-Edouard Vlasic, not an ideal choice, but he still sees power play time and has the ability to rack up points from time to time. With the cap space Vlasic frees up, I’m only looking for 8 points from him tonight. Just one assist, or a few blocked shots on D will suffice.
Is Nate Schmidt capable of another 32.8 FDP performance? Probably not, but we’ll take our chances
