Power Plays | Monday 4.16.2018 | FanDuel NHL

64

Tonight’s NHL Main slate consists of 4 playoff games – all of which are game 3’s tonight. Only San Jose is coming home with the series lead, every other team was swept on the road. San Jose is also the only home team favored to win. Nashville is the biggest favorite of the day at -165. Tampa Bay vs. New Jersey has the highest over/under of the day at 6. Every team is full of superstars that have helped their team get into the postseason. I’ve narrowed down a strong pool of #playmakers to consider when building your FanDuel lineups tonight.

Center

Patrice Bergeron | Boston Bruins | $8,100
David Krejci | Boston Bruins | $6,200

The Bruins have outscored the Maple Leafs 12-4 in the first two games of the series, and Patrice Bergeron has 5 assists so far. Maybe you can’t afford him because of all the superstars in the playoffs, but there’s no need to worry. The Bruins are stacked from top to bottom, and there are options aplenty. Krejci is a cheaper play, yet has still managed 3 points in the series so far. After being absolutely demolished by a score of 12-4 over two games, do the Leafs have what it takes to win a game? Or better yet, if the beating continues – do they give up and allow for more DFS goodness to ensue? Either way, give me some BOS1 and BOS2.

Wing

Evander Kane | San Jose Sharks | $6,900

There are lots of players at the wing in good position tonight. Kucherov a deadly threat as always, Taylor Hall is coming home, Marchand being apart of that monster Bruins top line, and Forsberg looking to bounce back in a big way after being held to only 1 shot last game. I wanted to find my second tier wing player, and tonight, that man is Evander Kane. He has only been held under 4 shots twice in the last 14 games. So far in this series against Anaheim he has 2 goals in 13 shots. Look for him to continue racking up those points.

Defense

Victor Hedman | Tampa Bay Lightning | $6,600

I liked Ryan Ellis at D for Nashville at first glance. His price is right, and he seemed to be in a good spot. But, Colorado is significantly better at home than on the road. So I switched over to my go-to defender in Victor Hedman. He is coming off of a slow game, and I expect him to stack up the points tonight in the highest projected scoring game of the night. Only 23 minutes and zero shots last game is uncharacteristic of one of the best point defenders in the NHL. Look for him to get back to his usual production level tonight, as its hard to keep him quiet for long.

Goalie

Martin Jones | San Jose Sharks | $8,600

When looking for my goalie, I want someone that will get me that win, and also have a realistic shot at a shutout. Those bonus 8 points from a blanking can give you a great bump into more money on FanDuel. Anaheim goes from a dominating 26-10 record at home, to the road with an 18-15 record away from the Honda Center. The Sharks are the only home team favored to win, so I feel as though Jones is a safe play for the win. The Sharks-Ducks game also has the lowest over/under on the slate, so this play suggests a solid possibility of a shutout occuring.

Jones has only given up 2 goals in 2 games this series
