NCAA BASKETBALL – 12.8.2019 – Best Bets for Sunday’s College Hoops (Free)

Hello Daily Play Action! Anthony Marro here, back to share my NCAA Men’s Basketball picks for the entire college season. Last year I was happy to supply over 300 picks against the spread and finish the season cashing at a rate of just about 59%. As March Madness approached and I was brought on to write for DPA, readers were treated to a 45-27-2 record of sides and totals over the final month of the season. This season, betting write-ups will posted exclusively on DPA almost every day but be sure to follow my Twitter too so you won’t miss a pick on days with abbreviated slates.

  • Current Season ATS Record: 46-45-1
  • Current Season Totals Record: 32-26-0
  • Previous Season ATS Record: 180-127-9

Texas -9.5 at Texas A&M

  • This is a tricky spot, but Texas A&M has gone 0-7 against the spread to start the season. The Aggies have a terrible offense and are coming off a horrible loss against Fairfield. I do not think Buzz Williams has his team ready to win games at this point in the season
  • Texas looks to be a tournament team this season and I think they perform well today against their instate rival. Defensive guru Shaka Smart will be able to contain the Aggies all afternoon and I seriously doubt they will score more than 55 against Texas
  • Matt Coleman and the far more experienced Longhorns should be able to score efficiently today against a good A&M defense. They have just one loss this season and what to put another good performance together prior to the start of conference play

Dayton vs Saint Mary’s, Over 134.5

  • The usually low scoring Saint Mary’s Gaels have had the total gone over in four of their past five games. Meanwhile Dayton is 6-1 to the over this season and averaging over 88 points per game. This number is too low for these offenses and I really love the pick
  • The Gaels are not high scoring on offense but both they and Dayton rank in the Top 15 in terms of shooting efficiency. Obi Toppin is an absolute monster and this team’s ability to score inside the paint makes them one of the best offenses in the country
  • Saint Mary’s does not score inside the paint like the Flyers but are shooting 44 percent as a team from beyond the arc. I think if a handful of their three pointers fall, this game will stay close and the total is going to be pushed much higher than the current line

Gonzaga vs Washington, Over 144

  • The superlatives seem to never end for Gonzaga. This offense is one of the best in the country and their games have gone over in their past four outings. They play very up tempo and are averaging over 86 points per game which is fifth best in Division I
  • Washington really has a stellar defense, but this is not nearly as scary a team as they have been in years past. Matisse Thybulle is not on the team this season and I think although they are talented, they will struggle to contain this Bulldogs offense
  • Filip Petrusev, Corey Kispert and Killian Tillie are all extremely talented and I think this Gonzaga squad is built to score no matter who touches the ball. This total is a bit higher than what I would like to play but I still really like the over at this current number

Seton Hall vs Iowa State, Over 151

  • Here we have Iowa State coming off a tough loss against… Seton Hall? It is very odd to see these teams playing a rematch this early in the season yet here we are. They met last Friday in the Bahamas and they combined for a total of 160 points with relative ease
  • Iowa State is going to be looking for revenge at home today and have had games go over in their past four games out. They have been playing very well together and I think they will score at least 80 points here today at home in Hilton Coliseum
  • Myles Powell is a monster and averaging over 26 points per game this year. The Pirates have the potential to be a Final Four team this year on the backs of their offense. As a team they have gone over 80 points in four of their past five games and can again here

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
