  • Overall Record: 463-403-18
  • Season Record: 28-16-2

Baylor vs Gonzaga

  • This game has been postponed

Southern Methodist vs Dayton, Over 140

  • The over has hit in all three of Southern Methodist’s games this season. They play extremely up-tempo basketball holding the ball for an average of just 13.5 seconds on their offensive possessions. This will be a very close game and I expect the winner to at the very least score 75 points
  • This Dayton squad is still extremely talented. Losing Obi Toppin to the NBA Draft obviously takes away this team’s top scoring threat but the remaining players are still thirsty for blood in the Atlantic 10. They are one of the most experienced teams in the country composed primarily of juniors and seniors
  • The three ball will be the deciding factor for this total. It is rare you see such high percentage shots in college basketball than you will from these squads, but when they do decide to let it fly they usually are money. Both rank inside the top 30 in the country in terms of three-point shooting percentage

Farleigh Dickinson vs Providence, Over 143

  • Farleigh Dickinson has one of the worst defenses in the country. They have allowed an average of over 84 points per game to start the season. While the Providence offense has been up and down to start the season, this feels like a game where they can really shine
  • One game that provides a good comparison for this one is Providence’s first of the season against Fairfield. That was another low-level squad that head coach Ed Cooley was able to expose with ease. I think a healthy 80 points or more will be easy for the Friars today
  • It really is not hard to get inside of the pain against Farleigh Dickinson. Pier-Olivier Racine is their freshman center, and he stands at just 6’8. Going against Nate Watson and Noah Horchler is a tough task for any freshman, let alone one of just this size

Houston -9.5 vs South Carolina

  • Houston has dominated out of the gates this season and I expect them to cover the spread once again today. This South Carolina team struggles to score on offense, and I do not think they will be able to keep up the Cougars in this spot. I expect another big win at home for them here
  • After losing to Liberty and struggling against Tulsa, it is hard to imagine that Frank Martin’s squad is ready for the number ten team in the country today. This will likely be a game that South Carolina gets beat inside of the paint and are unable to come back given their poor shooting

Illinois State +12 at Murray State

  • This is too many points. While Murray State put up 173 points in their opener against FCS Greenville, they shortly after lost an embarrassing game to Middle Tennessee. Illinois State dropped 177 on that same Greenville team and has looked much better as a whole
  • While this certainly is a young group of guys for Dan Muller, they have a nose for the basket. They are able to score the ball on a lot of possessions and are usually quick to get up their shots. I would like to see more assists from this group but their sheer talent allows them to score with the best of them

Portland +2 vs Portland State

  • Neither of these teams are good but I view Portland as far superior. There is no reason that they should be getting points as the underdog in this spot. I like that they have already seen action three times this season while this will be Portland State’s debut
  • Ahmed Ali is the primary scoring threat for Portland and I believe he could function as a guard on most teams in the country. After a quiet freshman season at Washington State he has come out the gates on fire this year. I think Portland has the superior offense and this team gets the job done today

Let’s win today Playmakers! I am confident in every pick that I provide and play them myself. College basketball is unpredictable and that’s why we love it, so always bet smart!
