Between the Tackles – Week 10 Running Backs Breakdown – NFL DFS

Hello there Playmakers, I’m happy to be back again for another week of NFL football. ‘Between the Tackles’ will provide you with 5 of my favorite running back plays for this Sunday’s Main Slate action on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Remember to monitor your bankrolls. Have fun and good luck!!!

Todd Gurley II | LAR | $9,400 DraftKings | $10,800 FanDuel

He finally let us down last week, but I’ll be going back to Todd Gurley in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams’ division rival is long since removed from their days as defensive powerhouse. They currently rank 27th in the NFL in yards allowed per carry – and Gurley already torched these ‘Hawks for 3 TDs in Seattle in Week 5.

This week, Gurley is a home favorite as the Rams are giving 7 points to their rivals. The game script should play nicely into Gurley’s strengths as they are likely to go up early and run out the clock. In spite of a mediocre Week 9 showing, I’ll be locking Gurley into my cash game lineups and have plenty of exposure to him in GPPs.

Melvin Gordon III | LAC | $9,000 DraftKings | $8,900 FanDuel
Melvin Gordon III looks healthy and has an excellent match-up with Oakland.

After missing a start in London, Melvin Gordon is back in dominant form. This week, he gets a juicy match-up against Jon Gruden’s porous Raiders defense. The Raiders currently rank 25th DVOA against the run, and 28th in the league in yards allowed per carry. Gordon has been his normal dominant self this season – averaging 5.4 yards per carry and reaching pay dirt 7 times in 7 games played.

The Chargers have one of the highest implied team totals on the slate at 30 points – and if they go up early, they’re likely to feed it to Gordon in order to run out the clock. Gordon will be a staple in Cash games for me on both sites – and he’s a better than fine option in GPPs.

Leonard Fournette | JAX | $6,300 DraftKings | $7,000 FanDuel
Fournette will return hoping to salvage what is left a lost season for the Jaguars.

This next option carries a bit of risk, but I’m looking to play some Leonard Fournette this Sunday in tournaments. Blake Bortles and the Jaguars have looked dismal during Fournette’s absence, and I expect them to turn to him early and often when they face off against the Colts. The Jaguars’ run offense currently ranks 24th DVOA, averaging an ugly 95 yards on the ground per game. PFF ranks their run offense 32nd in the league.
Fournette’s return should immediately boost these numbers, and while the Colts have been better than expected against the run this season – they can still be beat.

In their last game played- the Colts allowed an aging Doug Martin to beat them for 5.5 yards per carry. I don’t expect Fournette would be in unless he was fully healthy, and I expect him to see 25+ touches here against the Colts. Don’t let him anywhere near your cash game lineups, but he’s a reat tournament play with serious upside at this price point.

Value Tier

Dion Lewis | TEN | $4,600 DraftKings | $5,800 FanDuel
My favorite value back on this slate has to be Dion Lewis facing off agains his old team, the Patriots. Lewis is coming off back to back games in which he had 120+ yards from scrimmage, including a breakout performance against a stout Dallas rush defense on national television. The Patriots rank 20th in the NFL in Yards allowed per carry – and Lewis should be running with a full head of steam against a Patriots team that didn’t want to pay him.

Even if the Titans fall behind here, Lewis is likely to remain a major factor as he is currently second on the team in receptions. His price is way too low on both sites, making him an excellent play for both Cash games and GPPs.

Also Consider: D. Johnson Jr. (CLE), A. Kamara (NOS), T. Coleman (ATL), A. Jones (GBP)
